NORTH WEST ORIENTEERING CLUB
PROTOCOL FOR MAKING CHANGES TO OCAD FILES
- Master Map files are held by the club Map Custodian (at January 2004, Marquita Gelderman, ph (09) 420-2849).
- Planner/Controller team decide on who is responsible for the map file while organising the event.
- Obtain Master Map from map custodian.
RULES:
- DO NOT MAKE ANY COPIES of the map file until immediately before you are ready to create the competition maps. Make ALL changes to a single master map, that which you got from the map custodian.
- IF you are competent at using Ocad, make any necessary changes to the master map file. Unless you are a very competent mapper, restrict these changes to simple vegetation, track, fence etc changes. Do not attempt to make any large scale contour changes without consulting the club mapping officer (at January 2004, Mike Beveridge, ph 412-9275).
- Once all changes have been made, highlight each change with a pink circle and forward the altered map file to the map custodian.
- You may now delete your pink circles and make up the competition maps.
- If you are not competent at using Ocad, draw your changes by hand on paper and contact the map custodian, who will arrange to have the changes made to the master file.
